Dan Biehler win Johnnies Auction
Dan Biehler the winner of Johnnies auction.
The Johnnies 15th Annual swap meet was held at the Kansas Coliseum
Pavilion.
Mr.Dan Biehler attended the event with his cousin Larry Biehler and
his wife Susie and another cousin Kenny Biehler, all of Herrington.
Dan paid $10 for 10 chances on a restored 1951 Model "B" John Deere
tractor.
At 4p.m. Saturday afternoon, one of his tickets was drawn for the
historic piece of farm machinery.
The Herrington Biehlers are avid John Deere tractor owners and fans.
Dan is a city resident and lives in the 1600 block of Sunset Drive.
"I actually had no intention of going to the show but the three of
them along with my dad persuaded me to attend the show. I was waiting
on my cousin's wife to see if she had won the raffle and at the last
minute I decided to buy some tickets. Ten minutes later they announced
my name and I won!
"This is the second John Deere tractor I own now, the other I use for
my hobby farming - look for this one at the next Augusta parade.
"I picked the tractor up Sunday morning with my father Lawrence D.
Biehler from Wichita and Elmer Simon from Augusta.
" I was too nervous to drive the tractor out of the pavilion and Elmer
was more than happy to help me with the chore - so he was technically
the first person that got to drive it."
