Bad boy to take over the former Boeing Company
plant
The maker of "Bad Boy mowers" has announced it will take
over the former Boeing Company plant at Melbourne and use it
as a production facility.
Boeing Company closed the plant in April, putting about 100 people
out of work. Batesville-based Bad Boy has purchased the
100,000-square-foot factory and will convert it to produce Bad Boy's
new multi-terrain vehicle. The company is not sure yet about how
many people will work at the factory.
Bad Boy produces 26 lines of zero-turning radius lawn mowers and is
one of the fastest-growing mower companies in the country. Vehicles
produced at the Melbourne plant will be similar to the John Deere
Gator and Kawasaki Mule.
